The Great Steam Demo Update, asthe announcement calls it, makes several changes.
Demos can also now have their own separate store page, if a developer so chooses.
It was a terrible shame.
As a player, I have little invested in that debate.

Steam has been updated to better support demos, from finding them, adding them to your library, and even writing them user reviews.
