The first proper trailer of the game confirms only that it’ll definitely be a mid-budget first-person shooter. In fairness, the only conclusion to draw from that is that it’s not finished yet. Nacon like to show their games early, it seems. Robocop: Rogue City is being developed by Teyon, the makers of similarly mid-budget FPS Terminator: Resistance. I suspect Craig will burst like Emil Antonowsky should Robocop follow a similar pattern....

As Ed wrote, this turns mundane things into lifesavers. You also have limited means to manipulate the environment, like a mischievous spirit. Schim seems clever, playful, and it’s gorgeous to look and listen to. It’s gone right to the top of my wishlist.

All those extra months in the oven have produced a decidedlySea Of Thieves-shaped bun. But this one is all realistic and gritty, more complicated, and is taking itself seriously. It’s a decent USP to find a market. Skull And Bones' somewhat self-conscious “will you live as a pawns or die as pirates?” It will remind you, in fact, of an Ubisoft game. Skull And Bones seems to have a more obvious rags to riches progression than in Sea Of Thieves....

So much so, I thought it was ahomage to Bloodborne’s best bits. Seriously, I’m excited for this one. There’s a lot of scrapping in this trailer, across a number of the game’s early locations. This lets you prod previously inaccessible areas, by swinging up to warped balconies or precarious ledges. If there’s one thing that drives this game, it’s absolutely the combat. It definitely leans more intoNiohthan it doesDark Souls....

I’m still a bit on the fence about it, though. There’s no doubt that Daedalic’s take on a Gollum story looks quite nice. Now forgive me for my lack of Lord Of The Rings knowledge, but the mountain (Mordor?) is jagged and glossy, with a lovely orange glow from the sun. You’ve got a nice vista of a forest (Elven abode?) with an ancient city in the distance. And there’s some presumably important characters who make brief appearances too....

That’s notparticularlyunusual, but it leads into the second unusual thing: that it’s also agoodstrategy game. That’s a pretty big statement, and I’m as surprised as anyone. OrOgreBattle 64, but come on, you’d never heard of that before this week either. Sure, your squadcouldjust be five archers, or three spearmen. This has huge ramifications strategically and tactically, but just as important is how recognisable it makes your army. These decisions and relationships aren’t static either, because recruits grow into different niches....
