Off-Peak City feels so big because it's built from tiny places and unknown space

A fragmentary world more alive than any Bethesda RPG Most video games are too big. Their lands are too expansive, their histories over-explained, their playtimes too long. feeling of discovering a world often fades to leave the “What task must I complete now?” drudgery of playing a video game. Off-Peak City is a New York-ish place with a skyline worthy of Joel Schumacher’s Gotham City. Skyscrapers tangle and cluster and slowly congeal into a single vast spire....

Metal Gear Solid 1-3 rereleases coming in a new collection, hopefully on PC?

I just want Snake Eater on PC at long last. Konami are vague about platforms, but I’m expecting/hoping we’ll see this collection on PC? And more vintage Gears Solid might follow. They don’t specify which platforms (plural) those are, but I certainly hope PC is included. And I do expect it. And the Snake Eater remake is coming to PC, so the original would make sense. My only doubt comes from Metal Gear Solid 3....

Phantom Blade Zero is a kung-fu punk Soulslike with surprising mobile origins

I’m on board, if cautious! I hope they aren’t too heavy on small percentage increases, you know? Going off the trailer, the game looks mighty fine. It’s dark and stylish, with stunning boss designs and twirly kung-fu combat. “As it turns out, with some tweaks, this mechanism works just as well on controllers”. Is Liang hinting at automation, or a simplified control scheme alaStreet Fighter 6? I’d prefer the latter!

Please stop it with all the bland, new multiplayer shooters that will die in six months

A third, still, looked like the blinged up lovechild of Watch_Dogs and the baffingly bad Rockay City. But the more important question is this: who are these games hoping to court? There’s simply too of these games now. We have reached saturation years ago, and it’s time to say: no more. I’m sorry,Concord,Foamstars,Marathon,Fairgame$and, well, maybeHelldivers 2. ThePlayStation Blogpost for it revealed the sad truth. But what does that tell us, really?...

Prince Of Persia: The Sands Of Time remake is still in the "early stage" of development

Essentially, this sounds like a Benjamin Button situation. Better late than never. He also happened to have a time-rewinding dagger, which helped with both the parkour and the stabbing. Hopefully, this upcoming remake can fix that, eh? Our Katharine chose to save the original game in2003s RPS Time Capsule. Sounds right up my street.

Sword Of The Sea is a gorgeous new desert-surfing adventure from the devs behind Abzu and Journey

The trailer is a sight to behold. Together with that giant monster tease at the end of the trailer, expect some run-ins with giant leviathans. The Journey comparisons aside, Sword Of The Sea is also very in line with Giant Squid’s work. Sword of The Sea will release on PC and PlayStation 5.

The Lord Of The Rings: Gollum review: I hates it

The bottom line here, folks, is that Gollum is not good. Hes got it rough, but Gollum perseveres. He wants his shiny preciousness back, after all, and will do anything it takes to get it. Hes got drive, and as a fellow fan of sparkly jewellery, I can respect that. But drive isn’t enough to redeem the turgid adventure that follows. Part of the problem lies with having Gollum himself as the protagonist....
