You know, the one you’ve been desperate to remove by any means necessary? you might chat with them and, presumably, learn more about their identity as the game progresses. Regardless, there’s clearly plenty of fun roleplay opportunities to be had here. Ultimately, then, their customisable appearance doesn’t seem to have an impact on how the story progresses....

Not that Gales new vantage point offered any obvious entry points - only austere, imposing brickwork. That and a narrow pipe, through which smoke might leave the building. And he’s so good at both versions of Wheatley! Merchant’s performance only works in the whole context of the game....

They’re also very easy to miss if you’re not careful. A critical success roll if ever there was one. Some might say that’s veering into spoiler territory, but trust me. Is your granny a Miss Marple fan? When recommending Obra Dinn, the story sells itself. It’s one hell of a hook, and will pull the ear of any mystery fan. It’s got plenty of twists and turns, but also thrills and chills. Its basically Jonathan Creek set in 1802. Return Of The Obra Dinn is also pretty easy to get to grips with. If Grandma knows how to use a computer mouse, shes halfway there....

The huge RPG couldn’t be pre-loaded Baldur’s Gate 3came out earlier this evening. Steam held up to the onslaught - mostly. Steam makes various stats available, including bandwidth used in the past 48 hours. A brilliantly conceived murder mystery puzzle box (boat?) Spoilers to follow obviously, but if you know, you know. I’m talking about the shoe and hammock revelation. They rarely appear in other scenes, and their general movements are quite hard to pin down. The same goes for some of the lesser crewmen of other nationalities as well. The hammocks were numbered. The crew list has numbers too! Are they the same?...

For me, though, Portal 2 peaks late. Its Chapter 9: The Part Where He Kills You! Mmm, love that part. TPWHKY begins wonderfully: by almost literally knocking you off balance. In other words, its hardly a dumb action sequence, and theres thought behind those spike plates. Wheatleys murder attempts contrast nicely with those of GLaDOS, in the similarly climactic breakout portion of the originalPortal. Its funny, and stupid, but also smart....
