Manor Lords early access review: a sturdy and immersive builder that feels incomplete yet alive with promise

It presents as a locus of power, where your character avatar resides. Also, its right there in the title. The more I play, the more it feels a fitting place. Not sidelined, exactly, just not especially loud. Parchment and seals arent as important as tilled earth; as winter snow, spring thaws and autumn harvests. Not half as much, anyway, as it is about manure. Or at least things manure-adjacent, anyway....

Minecraft rolls out armadillo mob and rewilds biomes with eight new wolf variants

About that armadillo first. Good to know where these guys stand in the ancient arachno-human conflict. But what of the wolves? A pleasing spread for dog lovers. Each wolf subspecies will be found in its own particular biome. The striped wolf will lurk in the badlands, probably far less invested in stuff like that. What else do these patch notes reveal? “Wolves tails are now correctly positioned when sitting.” Minecraft’s ecology is looking healthy recently....

PUBG, the game that Fortnite copied, copies Fortnite by bringing back the battle royale shooter’s original map

Erangel Classic returns for two weeks next month PlayerUnknowns Battlegrounds- aka the game that inspired and then was overtaken byFortnitesBattle Royalemode - is seemingly borrowing a leaf from its cartoony cousins playbook by resurrecting its original map. PUBGs return to Erangel -now dubbed Erangel Classic- will follow the approach taken by Fortnite through its own recent trip through seasons pastin last years Season OG. As well as bringing back the original map layout and locations lost in subsequent updates, the time-trip will rebalance weapons with reduced recoil and a longer time to knock down enemies, reintroduce bench weapons, bring back fog and rain weather conditions and even tweak the games user interface - with vintage map, minimap and fonts that its developers generously call charmingly tacky - to indulge in that nostalgic 2017 feel....

Sand Land review: a boring Mad Max lite that should have been very exciting

More like Bland Land, am I right? So, arguably, a less cool Mad Max. Sometimes there is a stealth section, but they’re so rare I almost forget to mention them. But most of this can, presumably, be credited to the source material, which does seem terrific. Translated to a game, though, and you’re just travelling through mostly empty spaces at medium speed. That doesn’t happen in Sand Land. In fact there’s very little to attach you to anything....

Should You Bother With... Hall effect keyboards?

And does it actually make for a bettergaming keyboard? Time to found out. As to how this pertains to gaming keyboards, that all comes down to Hall effect sensors. That voltage, produced by the effect, is specifically measured at a right-angle to the currents path. In gaming, theyre likely most well-known for their thumbstick applications. Such advantages can also be applied to keyboards. Instant activation and less wear and tear, surely a winning combination for speed-obsessed gamer types....

Steam says those hours you time criminals put in during advanced access now count toward the refund allowance

This change covers titles that are in pre-purchase and offer Advanced Access. Playtime acquired during the Advanced Access period will now count towards the Steam refund period. you might find our more information regarding Steam Refunds here. The standard 14-day/two-hour refund period also applies, starting on the games release date. Thank you, Valve. Nonsense aside, this is honestly a perfectly reasonable change.

The Don't Starve devs' new cutesy co-cop dungeon crawler is out in early access today

You’ll get muddy knees. The world, says theSteampage, has been thrown into chaos. So rarely are worlds thrown into order, dear reader. On each run you’ll get different powerups, so no two attempts are the same. Hey, there’s the roguelike stuff! Rotwood actually reminds me a lot of that, because of how cute everything looks. All the corrupted monsters look like they’d be a pet for a lisping girlchild in a 90s Nicktoon....

Innkeep satisfies my craving for a fantasy game that's just a grim drudgery simulator

What fate the Warcraft grunt when he is too old to work work? It’s probably pretty bad, right? Now let me slopInnkeepdown in front of you like a big bowl of rat stew. I mean that as a compliment. Becoming the innkeeper is a classic case of mistaken identity, i.e. It’s all good! Just get to keeping this inn, baby! you might also eyeball them, but doing either will slowly arouse their suspicion....

Latest Horizon Forbidden West PC patch finally fixes its weirdest issue

At last I can behold those glorious words: “Resolved performance regression when enabling Nvidia Reflex On+Boost.” Annoying, and honestly quite strange. And now, it doesnt in Forbidden West either. If it sounds like Im getting uppity over nothing, I suppose that in a cosmic sense I am. Its free latency reduction with (typically) zero drawbacks. To see it go so wrong is just, eww, no.

Lethal Company gets worse as you get better

All of these, it turns out, make Lethal Company a worse game. A less enjoyable one, anyway. My very first game, an all-RPS mission to a supposedly easy moon, wentterribly. It was amazing, a proper whittling-down-the-survivors horror thriller unleaden by expectation or metagaming. Now, you see, I actually know what Im doing. Get in, get scrap, get out. Thats the job, and Ive passed my probation. Lord knows Im still jumping off the dropship straight into pools of quicksand....

Metaphor: ReFantazio gets mega-trailer and October release date, brawler-only parties are viable

Travel on your magic mech is compared to “camping”, which I wasn’t expecting. “Cooking, conversing, camping, and more”, apparently. What’s quite amusing is Hashino pointing out the washing machine and cleaning supplies. InPersona 5you could get rusty armour cleaned at a laundromat to reveal their true, powerful forms. I wonder if it’s the same case, here? Jobs or “Archetypes” are outlined briefly, too (around 16:50). When in dungeons, you could run about and scan enemies to judge their level....
