Nvidia GeForce RTX 5070 Ti is back in stock for MSRP at Amazon

It’s only for Prime members, but it’s the best shot you’ve got right now. The new GIGABYTE GeForce RTX5070 Tiis officially here, and somehow it’sstill in stock at Amazon for $979.99. Its factory overclocked, too, so youre squeezing extra frames out of it right out of the box. So yeah, no fire sale here. Power supplies, cooling, CPU bottlenecks all add up fast. Sometimes, grabbing a full prebuilt system just makes more sense....

Please let Pillars Of Eternity's surprise turn-based mode spark a wave of turn-based updates for all other games

What did you get for your 10th birthday? You might want to bring that up at the next family gathering. I’m already texting my dad. Imagine if Street Fighter had a dual-turn system derived from deckbuilders, with players queuing up attacks simultaneously. (This has been done, yes? Surely it’s been done. One of the Puzzle Fighter variants, perhaps.) Perhaps Avowed will get a turn-based mode next? Something in the vein of Sega’sValkyria Chronicles, perhaps?...

Real-time tactics game Strategos aims to outflank Total War with over 120 factions at launch

Here’s a trailer. It’s also an absolute mess of factions and subfactions. There are 120 (!) armies to choose from, encompassing 250 individual units. I don’t recognise most of them - Meroitic Kushites, anyone? It’s like watching somebody fashion shieldwalls from Haribo’s back catalogue. Here’s a representative excerpt froma post earlier this year. Master A New Scale Of Tactics - Experience the depth of tabletop wargaming in thrilling moment-to-moment gameplay....

Rosewater review

Out on the range, such wonders of technology feel mysterious. But Rosewater is not a mystery game, or at least not a detective game like its predecessor. Its a straight up and down, Gods honest point-and-click adventure. The first two hours follow Harley as she puts together a team of fortune-seekers. Theres the smooth-talking showman, the gentle healer, all charming in an Oceans Eleven kind of way. Mixed into the linear puzzle sequences, the crew occasionally offers competing strategies for tackling challenges....

Sea of Thieves crossing over with Destiny doesn't make a lick of sense, but here it is anyway

Arrr you sure about this one? Today’s crossover is one of the smaller ones, this time with, uh… Destiny. The sci-fi, first-person shooter. In any case, the crossover is already in-game now, but it’ll cost you a pretty penny. That’s live service, for you.

Tencent hand Ubisoft a big wad of cash to spin out Assassin's Creed, Far Cry, and Rainbow Six as a separate business

But how separate is it, really? Well, there you have it folks. But how will the relationship between Ubisoft and this new spin-off entity work? Again, all very open-ended for the moment. I imagine between that and the Tencent deal, Ubisoft management will be sleeping a little easier tonight.

That Pac-Man, but what if he was a little bit evil, Metroidvania now has a summer release date

Pucker up Remember Secret Level, that Amazon show that came out last December? “, except positioning that as universally cool, actually (let’s leave that whole conversation there). The release date announcement came with a snazzy new trailer that revealed you also get a mech?

Tomb Raider and Perfect Dark devs Crystal Dynamics cut staff, promising that current projects are unaffected

According toa social media statement, they “did not take this decision lightly”. Oh, and “this change does not alter our current project plans.” “Call me Mark S the way I just got severed, from employment,” he writes. Hope everybody leaving Crystal Dynamics this week finds safe, rather than cold, harbour elsewhere. Yes, this is another Severance reference. I apologise if I’m being gauche.

"Relaxing" horror game LiDAR Exploration Program is PowerWash Simulator but with lasers

I’ve just been playing the Itch demo, and it’s sort ofPowerWash Simulatorbut for ghosts. Each level gives you a list of individual objects to scan. There’s an alt-fire on right-click which scans the whole screen from top to bottom. All very methodical and restful. LiDAR can’t reveal the interior of an opaque object, or anything behind the surface you’re scanning. I like the unassuming delicacy of these chills, the way they emerge ‘organically’ from the central conceit....
