Ni no Kuni: Cross Worlds, a PC and mobile spin-off, heads west this summer

That’s why I’m interested inNi no Kuni: Cross Worlds. Much of what follows seems familiar from the previous games in the series. It also, I should add, evokes the structure of several other mobile RPGs. I’m choosing to be hopeful. I mean, just look at the screenshot at the top of this post. Don’t want to hug some fantasy sheep? To further underline the Studio Ghibli influence, here’s an animated trailer:

Play A Short Hike in multiplayer with 99 others in this April Fool's gag

Is it still a gag if you actually make the thing? That means Robinson-Yu is planning on keeping his server live for only two weeks. As other tweets explain, this isn’t a battle royale mode. Still, the reason I love A Short Hike is that it’s a lovely place to hang out. It’s nice to hang out in it with other people. Eventually one of us flies off a ledge and we go our separate ways....

House Flipper added F.R.I.E.N.D.S. apartments for April Fool's Day

Case in point: renovate ‘em upHouse Flipperhas added two apartments from F.R.I.E.N.D.S. for you to fix up. I approve of this April Foolishness. Even if it was weird to see a brick wall in the place of the fourth wall. you could buy ‘em, tidy ‘em, maybe even make ‘em look nice. I don’t know what about F.R.I.E.N.D.S. makes this a prank, trick, or joke, but it seems fun? Seems a bit silly?...

The 9 best plot twists in PC games

Flipping the script Hello, it’s the list goblin. Every month I bring fun lists to share. My hideous goblin features and desperate hunger for SEO crumbs hide a generous heart. People don’t expect kindness from a creature such as I. But life is full of twists, and so are video games. Remember whenBioShockpulled the rug from beneath you so hard you cracked your head on the wet tiles? Remember when the dragon scales fell from your eyes during The Elder Scrolls:Skyrim?...

Tiny Tina's Wonderlands review: neurotic humour and the precise gun magic you'd expect

Tone it down The comedy ofBorderlandsis like a high-recoil submachine gun. For Borderlikers, the gun compulsion and farty japes will be enough. As that, Tinalands is fine. It is also 100% not for me. The big hurdle first: I find Tiny Tina hard to stomach. It takes patience to get past how baseline annoying she can be. It is low brow, high tempo. One character is described as a “half-bard”, a solid joke at the fantasy genre’s expense....

We've played Nine Sols and its Sekiro-inspired combat is shaping up nicely

This is rare for someone like me, who often cares more for the action than the characters. Hey, keep an eye on this one. The Nine Sols demo begins with a splat. You, a warrior cat, are dangling off a cliff edge as an evil ronin cat watches on. An aerial shot confirms that, yes, your guts are now vulture pickings. Suddenly, some magical tentacles sprout from the earth and slide you into their embrace....

Loop Hero makers support piracy if sanctions stop you buying it

The route-building dungeon-crawler’s publishers, Devolver Digital, have supported this. The game’s publishers are cool with this. After proposing torrenting, the devs seemed surprise by the attention this got internationally. I’m up for more Loop Hero. Loop Hero is a peculiar blend of hands-off roleplaying and light card-based strategy. It is a cosy, compulsive thing." For more looping, Brad Langtalked with the devsabout how that mix of things came to be.

RPS Time Capsule: the games worth saving from 2014

Which games will make the cut and ascend to the realms of the PC gaming elite? Here are the rules, in case you’re in need of a reminder. We’re also going by PC release dates here, not when they first came out more generally. I’m currently about 750 hours deep. That’s only a steady 100 hours a year since the game launched, though. I’m sure I don’t have a problem....

Superfuse is making a violent play to be your next co-op Diablo-like

Whichever way you slice it, though,Superfusemakes a striking and violent first impression. It’s all thanks to its titular fuses. It was these latter two I ended up pumping most of my skill points into. masher to catch up with friends over. Commiserate on football scores while reducing ice golems to slush. Re-litigate each other’s best Marvel rankings while mulching zombies into itty bitty flesh chunks. That sort of thing.
